route in detail

Counter-clockwise loop of Hicks Lake in Sasquatch Provincial Park near Harrison. From the picnic area, follow the shore across the outlet dam and around the campground peninsula, then along the forested west shore past big cedar stumps to an old road at the lake's end (side road right climbs to a view of Seabird Island and the Fraser Valley, adding about 6 km and 160 m). Stop at Sandy Beach, then return on the old road along the east side.

Extended option: A longer variant runs about 6.5 km round trip, roughly 3 hours. Confirm the route on the official map before you commit.

Watch for: Side trip adds substantial distance and climbing. Provincial park; check for seasonal gate closures.

Best season: most of the year

good to know cam

Hi, I'm Cam Appleton. I love Vancouver and I love getting out on its trails. When I went looking for a simple, easy hiking guide for around here, I couldn't find one I liked. I also really like helping people, so I built this one.

My day job is real estate. I help people buy, sell and lease. I hope you're enjoying the start of Hike Vancouver. If you're thinking about living closer to trails like this one, I'm happy to talk.
